Grief Support

Grief & Healing

If you or someone you know is dealing with grief from the loss of a loved one—or are dealing with a terminal illness, either personally or regarding someone close to you—know that help is out there. You can avail yourself of many resources during this Challenging time.

Online support groups can provide great comfort during the grieving process. The nonprofit GriefNet.org includes more than 50 grief support groups. It also has many additional resources.

The AARP website includes a Grief & Loss center. This resource is a collection of many resources focused on dealing with loss, caregiving, end-of-life care, and many other relevant topics. It additionally has a number of educational articles covering topics such as protecting the dead from identity theft, how to be the executor of an estate, and how to write a eulogy.

You’ll find a wealth of resources at the Center for Loss & Life Transition website. Dr. Alan Wolfelt, its director, has written numerous books and other materials on this subject; these can be found at the center’s online bookstore. You can also look through the center’s guide to grief and mourning basics.

For free information about end-of-life care, palliative medicine, and hospice care, visit the Growth House site. You’ll find over 4,000 pages of educational materials. There are also over 100 links to grief resources at Masters in Counseling’s Grief & Bereavement page.
